Overview

Renegade Personal Training ("Renegade PT", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.

We operate in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or contacting us through any channel, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We don't sell your personal information. Ever. We don't run ads. We don't share your details with marketing companies. We collect only what we need to run the business and respond to your enquiries.

Sensitive information

You may voluntarily share health-related information (such as injuries, medical conditions or fitness limitations) in your message to us. We will not collect sensitive information without your consent, and we will not use it for any purpose beyond delivering your training.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to any third party.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — third-party tools that help us operate the website and business (see Third-party services below). These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Legal requirements — where we are required by law, regulation or a court order to disclose information.
  • Safety — where disclosure is necessary to protect the health or safety of an individual.

Renegade PT does not transfer personal information outside of Australia except where a third-party service operates internationally (such as cloud-based tools). In those cases, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient handles your information in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Third-party services

This website and our business operations use the following third-party services that may process your data. Each is governed by its own privacy policy.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that form submissions are made by a real person, not a bot. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving alternative to traditional CAPTCHA — it does not use tracking cookies or build an advertising profile. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser signals to perform this verification.

Google services

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, referral source). This data is aggregated and anonymised — it does not identify you personally. Google Reviews also displays client testimonials that are publicly visible on Google. Both are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Hosting and infrastructure

This website is served from infrastructure hosted within Australia or through providers with appropriate data handling agreements. Access logs (including IP addresses) may be retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes.

Social media platforms

If you interact with Renegade PT through Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn, your information is subject to those platforms' own privacy policies. We do not have control over how those platforms handle your data.

If you have questions about a specific third-party service and how it handles your data, we recommend reviewing that service's own privacy documentation directly.

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to deliver services to you and to comply with our legal obligations, including:

  • Enquiry and contact records — generally up to 2 years from last contact
  • Client records (session history, programs, health notes) — up to 7 years from the end of the training relationship, in line with general record-keeping obligations
  • Financial records — 7 years as required under Australian tax law

When your information is no longer needed, we will delete or de-identify it securely.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all website traffic
  • Bot and spam filtering on the contact form (Cloudflare Turnstile)
  • Restricted access to client records
  • Use of reputable, secured email and storage services

No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to us.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information where we are not legally required to retain it
  • Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from any communications at any time
  • Make a complaint — lodge a complaint if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal obligations. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify existing clients directly.

Contact & complaints

If you have a question about this policy, want to access or correct your information, or would like to make a complaint, please contact us directly.

We take privacy complaints seriously and will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
